Rescuing, rehabilitating & re-homing dogs in the Chicagoland area especially Labs. Over the years, they have established a great network of shelters and vets in the Chicagoland area and beyond. Pulled together through their love of Labs and their desire to create an avenue for saving these great family dogs who are so helpless and so appreciative of getting love and attention, they decided to start CLR.

The need for Diabetic Alert Dogs is even more pertinent in children because diabetic patients (even adults) commonly experience hypoglycemic unawareness. Hypoglycemic unawareness is a condition where a person is unable to detect when his or her blood
sugar is falling or when it’s dangerously low until they begin experiencing symptoms. Since it is difficult for a diabetic adult to recognize their blood sugar levels are low, it is even more difficult for a child. Even though medical insurance companies recognize Diabetic Alert Dogs as a viable monitoring system, these dogs are still very difficult to achieve. With the high price tag of these professionally trained dogs, it is Mady’s Way goal to help provide Diabetic Alert Dogs for underprivileged, insulin-dependent diabetic children and their families.
